Richard Bryan Thomas, 71, passed away Tuesday at his home in Lake Havasu City. He was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Akron, Ohio.

Richard and his wife moved to Lake Havasu City 12 years ago from Villa Park, Calif. He attended high school at Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Va. Richard was a graduate from Kent State and his career was in transportation. Richard was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Akron, Loyal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion. He attended Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City.  

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Judy Thomas; daughters, Christy Hartman, of Placentia, Calif., and Cherie Gibbons, of Fullerton, Calif.; stepchildren, Carmen Fuller, of San Jose, Calif., Brenda Milos, of Charleston, S.C., Adam Overbo of San Diego, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His parents, Ples and Edith Thomas and brother Donald Thomas preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be at Mount Olive Lutheran Church Saturday at 1 p.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Jim Price. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge.

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
