Ottilie Finsterwalder, 103, passed away Wednesday at her residence in Lake Havasu City. She was born on May 20, 1906, in Obergriessbach, Bavaria, Germany, and was one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Plank.

Ottilie married Johann Finsterwalder and together they raised four children, two sons and two daughters. She survived both world wars and came to the United States at the age of 88. Mom always placed the well-being of her family ahead of her own and was a very loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She moved to Lake Havasu City with her daughter, Lotte, and enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family.

Ottilie is survived by her son, Johann “Hans” Finsterwalder and his wife Ann; daughters, Liselotte Hamm and husband Joseph Squillace, Hilde Dampier and husband Richard; as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband of 51 years, Johann Finsterwalder, and son, Joseph Finsterwalder, preceded her in death.

A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Father Chancey will offer words of comfort and inspiration.
