Sept. 15, 1915 — Dec. 19, 2009

Maurice (Mory) Wilson was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Wolsey, S.D., to William and EthelMae (Barber) Wilson. The family later moved to Sioux Falls, S.D.

He served his country during World War II in the Pacific theater. Upon returning to civilian life, Mory joined the family business, Wilson Storage and Transfer Co. Maurice married the love of his life, Margaret Dalton Hult, in 1948. They adopted four children.

When Mory retired, he and his family moved to California in 1967. They settled in Lake Havasu City in 2000.

Mory was an avid football fan and was always cheering on his alma mater, USC. He was a member of Rotary International for 58 years and was a member of London Bridge Rotary Club, here in Lake Havasu City. Mory’s sense of humor and laughing smile will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret; his daughter, Becky (Tom) Porter, of Lake Havasu City; son, John Wilson, of Vista, Calif.; as well as grandsons, Christopher Baucia, of Crofton, Md., Brian Cochran, of Spring Valley, Calif.; and two great-grandsons, Brett and Brian Baucia. Mory was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nina; a daughter, Susan Baucia; and son, William Wilson.

A memorial service will come at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mory’s name can be made to Rotary International, 1560 Sherman Ave., Evanston, IL, 60201.

Condolences and thoughts can be made to his family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
