Elias was born into a working class family in Penuelas, Ags, Mexico, on May 19, 1939. Being only a child, he was put to the test by life, and sent off to work along with his younger sister. Elias matured into a strong and self-reliant being at an early age, and eventually married the mother of his children, Celia. Elias and Celia began a life together in Aguascalientes, Mexico, with soon-to-come children: Rosa Imelda, Antonio Armando and Juan Francisco.
When my grandfather, better known to me as "Ta-ta,” began to experience the long-term effects of alcohol and a few accidents here and there, a negative slope began to show in his health. Sooner or later, my Ta-ta became our baby to care for, and we did so with all of the love from our hearts. Some moments over frustration caused conflicts in our family but never would we blame it on him. Finally, my grandfather Elias became so reliant on his children, that sadly, this is what brought our family together after years of leading distinct lives.
Now Elias has started a new life in the heavens, and I'm sure he is closely watching over us. This is where we turn the page and move on but never leaving without his love, strength and advice. We will miss him dearly.
