Frances M. Vancil

Frances M. Vancil, of Bremerton, Wash., died Jan. 3, at Harrison Hospital. Frances was born March 9, 1921, to Albert R. and Mary J. Niess in Chicago, Ill.



She met John H. Vancil (Jack) during World War II, and they married in Chicago, Ill., on April 27, 1946. They lived in Gessie, Ind., until moving to Bremerton in 1956. They attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where they were Eucharistic Ministers and choir members. In later years, they lived in Lake Havasu City and attended mass at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Their children are John A. Vancil (Linda), of Silverdale, Donald E. Vancil (Corine), of Big Timber, Mont., Judith E. Seay (John), of Port Orchard, Michael L. Vancil and Frances A. Vancil, of Bremerton, Christopher L. Vancil, of Seattle, and Rose M. Vancil, of Bremerton.

Other survivors include her sister, Jane, of Lake Havasu City; many nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Jack, died on Jan. 12, 2003, and their daughter, Susan Annette, died at birth in 1952.

A service for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County; P.O. Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com.
