Thomas P. Coughlin Jr. aka “Mr. Tom”

Thomas P. Coughlin Jr. aka “Mr. Tom” passed away Jan. 3 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix after a two-year battle with Leukemia.



He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on July 27, 1937, to Thomas P. and Anna Coughlin.

He worked for Columbia University, Hudson Laboratories, Office of Naval Research, where he met his wife Lorraine. They were married Sept. 3, 1960, in Yonkers.

Upon arriving in Lake Havasu City, he worked for McCulloch Corporation as a machinist. He retired from the school system as a facility service person working at Oro Grande Elementary then transferring to Thunderbolt Middle School. After retirement, he worked part time for Home Depot and the Lake Havasu City Police Department as a PSA.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Coughlin; daughter, Lori Coughlin; son, Thomas, and his wife, Diane Coughlin; and two grandchildren, Joclyn Rose and Javen Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Patricia Ann Coughlin.

Tom was a member of the Elks Lodge 2399 and the Eagles Aries and also the New Yorkers of Havasu Club. He enjoyed his grandchildren and going to the casinos betting on horses and to Gallagher’s for off-track betting.

There will be a memorial at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Friday at 6 p.m., and a funeral mass Saturday at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
